I love studying some psychology in my leisure time. The world is made up of people, and psychology, as a discipline studying people, helps me better understand this world. For example, "The Righteous Mind" informed me about the reasons behind openness. No one can grasp the truth without listening to others' advice. Psychology also teaches me to understand myself. Diving and swimming are my favorite sports. I have two diving certificates, OW (Open Water) and AOW (Advanced Open Water), and am currently obtaining the Divemaster certificate. Watching movies and taking photos with my camera also make my life more interesting. The former allows me to see many stories that have yet to appear in my life, while the latter documents my life.

Palliative care is not only a means needed in the terminal stages of illness. The reason we require palliative care is due to the revolutionary advancements in medical technology resulting from technological progress. Whether it's the doctors, family members, or patients themselves, expectations for hospitals are high. This often leads to ineffective medical interventions, meaning that, due to the patient's deteriorating condition, continued treatment is no longer suitable. No matter how many medical interventions are employed, they cannot effectively alleviate the pain and suffering. Therefore, palliative care is necessary to initially alleviate the patient's condition before resuming further treatment. Moreover, The situation of palliative care in China is challenging. There is a severe shortage of interdisciplinary healthcare professionals specializing in palliative care, and the country lacks a comprehensive setup for easing medical disciplines. The scarcity of experts in the field of palliative care has led to an excessive emphasis on humanities and the proliferation of much misinformation. I have just realized that people around me either misunderstand or have no knowledge of palliative care. After learning about it myself, I shared it with my mom, who then posted it on her social media. Subsequently, someone, not even well-acquainted with my mom, reached out to her, expressing a strong need for palliative care and inquiring where to find it. This highlights a significant information gap, and I hope to immediately share this matter with people in my community, as there might be others who need it too.

"The moral roots of liberals and conservatives - Jonathan Haidt" is a TED Talk I appreciate the most. This video deepened my understanding of openness. People naturally love to categorize; we not only classify things around us but also categorize ourselves into different camps — nations, races, political parties. Because of this, we have wars, environmental crises, and other global issues. Together with these issues come numerous speculators who continue to persuade people to choose a side. In reality, there is nothing that is "either with us or against us." Instead, if we want the truth, we need to understand different perspectives without blindly choosing a side; this is the reason and purpose of openness.
