Bio
For over 15 years, I have delivered pastoral support in secondary and primary education as a mentor, head of year and counsellor. My work in education involves liaising with all statutory and voluntary agencies (e.g. Social Services, SEN department & CAMHS psychotherapists) involved with safeguarding students emotional development and academic achievement according to the NICE guidelines. My focus was to enable students to break barriers to learning through counselling and individual mentoring. Parallel to this I also ran a private psychotherapy practice for the past five years. In 2013, I got involved with organising TEDxEuston, initially as a volunteer and then a team member. Since 2015, I have taken on the mantle as co-curator leading a dynamic team of African professional. I thoroughly enjoy working with speakers to deliver their unique TEDxEuston talks.
I'm passionate about
African ideas worth spreading, psychology, psychotherapy, education, architect and the arts.
An idea worth spreading
"We need to begin a dialogue between ourselves...It's time to we start writing a new narrative that doesn't focus on the struggle but on progression on the continent." Nancy Kacungira (TEDxEuston 2015)
