David Ward

David has been an Agricultural Consultant, Agronomist, Trainer and facilitator in sustainable and Holistic Farming practices for the past 17 years. Currently the General Manager for Holistic Results a consultancy and training business using the principles of Holistic Management founded by Allan Savory. David along with his father strives to build resilient agricultural businesses be they family owned and operated to multi national corporate organizations. David has had extensive experience in Australia and the US in broad acre and irrigated crop production working closely with industry and association bodies in legislative and practical enhancements for farmers and agribusiness. David has been intimately involved in changing the legislation for the use and production of Industrial Hemp in Australia and has worked on business development and commercialization of a major Australian condiment mustard and intensive horticultural projects using demand driven models from customer to farmer. David has a proven record in people management and the understanding of farmers, regional communities and the consumer’s role in agricultural production systems and outcomes. David is married with two kids and resides in Dubbo, NSW.

On August 19th 2011 TEDxDubbo we’ll see sixteen gifted speakers share their ‘great ideas’ on the TEDx platform. TED, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to ‘sharing great ideas’ (see www.ted.com) Our speakers will share ‘great ideas’ within the following topic areas: Food, Agriculture, Climate, Energy, Topsoil and Sustainability, collectively known as FACETS. The FACETS theme reflects the inter-relationship between these issues and the act they play in their survival both individually and collectively. Evident through Energy and the consequential effects on Climate and Sustainability leading to disaster or opportunity can be a variable result. TEDxDubbo puts the thought leaders and business leaders together to encourage exploration of the FACETS looking for great ideas to lead to opportunity and away from disaster.
