Ashlyn Campbell, a Junior Computer Science major with a minor in Sociology at Georgia State University, is actively engaged in various organizations dedicated to bridging the technology industry's gap for marginalized groups. As a member of MLT and Girls Who Code, Ashlyn is deeply committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, and she aspires to work in an environment that shares this mission. Throughout her college career, Ashlyn has gained valuable experience in diverse industries. She completed a software engineering co-op in the defense industry, where she worked on impactful projects and collaborated with a talented team to develop software solutions. This experience enhanced her technical proficiency in languages such as Python, C++, Bash Scripting, and SQL database management. Furthermore, Ashlyn served as a Data Analyst Intern at a non-profit organization, where she contributed to data analysis and created data visualizations to support the organization's mission of assisting low-income households in achieving self-sufficiency. This role allowed her to apply her Computer Science knowledge, utilizing Python and tools like Tableau. Her time in the non-profit sector underscored the significance of data-driven decision-making and reaffirmed her dedication to using her skills for social good. Currently, Ashlyn holds the position of Project Assistant for RISE in Computing, an organization focused on achieving inclusion and excellence for marginalized communities in the Technology Industry. Concurrently, she works as an Undergraduate Teacher's Assistant for the Computer Science department at Georgia State University. Ashlyn is passionate about advocating for underrepresented communities and sharing resources to narrow the gap for Black Women in Computer Science. In her future career, Ashlyn is committed to making a meaningful contribution to society by integrating the disciplines of Sociology and Computer Science. By combining these fields, her goal is to address systemic inequalities, promote equity, and drive positive societal change.

Ashlyn recognizes the powerful potential that arises from merging Computer Science and Sociology, to address complex societal challenges. She's dedicated to harnessing the analytical and problem-solving capabilities of technology to understand and mitigate systemic inequalities, promote inclusivity, and drive positive social change. Her commitment to this interdisciplinary approach reflects her belief in the transformative impact it can have on shaping a more equitable and harmonious society.
