Ishita Karuturi

Ishita Karuturi is an IBDP student pursuing Economics, Computer Science, and Math at the Higher Level, with aspirations to study Quantitative Economics and Econometrics. A dedicated and hard-working individual, Ishita has a strong leadership background and is deeply passionate about sparking innovation and driving change. She believes in the transformative power of sharing ideas and voices to inspire action. Ishita is passionate about economics because of its ability to evolve and address real-world issues. She is fascinated by the field’s dynamic nature, where new ideas are continuously developed to tackle societal challenges. Ishita enjoys working with others to understand their unique perspectives, valuing collaboration and the exchange of fresh ideas. This passion for different viewpoints drives her desire to foster innovation and create solutions that can change the world for the better. With a deep commitment to fostering creativity and curiosity, Ishita works to bring together diverse voices and perspectives. It all began in Grade 5 when my school hosted its first TEDx event. For me, it was an exciting opportunity to step into a world where ideas and perspectives were celebrated. From a young age, I was always curious about others' thoughts and the way different people viewed the world. I had my own ideas to share, and TEDx seemed like the perfect platform to express them. Little did I know that this initial exposure would spark a passion that would grow into something much bigger. My love for public speaking flourished from that point forward. I found immense joy in speaking to audiences who were eager to listen and engage with my ideas. There was something powerful about standing before a crowd, sharing perspectives, and feeling the energy of people who believed in the potential for change. It wasn’t just about talking—it was about connecting with others, opening their minds, and creating a space for meaningful conversations. Through my experiences, I learned that ideas are powerful tools for change, and I wanted to contribute to that movement. Over time, I had the opportunity to deliver two of my own TEDx talks, which allowed me to refine my speaking skills and further understand the impact of sharing innovative ideas. These experiences strengthened my desire to provide others with the same platform I had—a place where their voices could be heard and their ideas could inspire change. The realization that I could help create a space for others to express their unique perspectives fueled my ambition to organize my own TEDx event. Hosting my own TEDx event became a natural next step in my journey. I wanted to provide an opportunity for others to stand in front of an audience and share their passions, ideas, and perspectives. I believe everyone has something valuable to contribute, and I wanted to be a part of creating a platform that amplified those voices. With this vision in mind, I set out to bring together a team, organize the logistics, and curate a space that would spark meaningful discussions and inspire those who attended. In essence, my journey with TEDx started with curiosity and a desire to learn from others, and it has evolved into a deep passion for fostering creativity, innovation, and collaboration. It has taught me the power of ideas to bring about change and inspired me to create a space where voices from all walks of life can come together to make a difference. This journey is only just beginning, and I’m excited to continue contributing to a world where new ideas have the power to transform communities and shape a better future.
