Bio
After completing a degree in Divinity at the University of Edinburgh in 2000, I trained to teach Religious Education at secondary school. Shortly afterwards, I studied a Masters in History at the University of Manchester and embarked on a career in the museums and heritage sector as an Education Officer. In 2010 I met my future wife and we decided to resettle in her home country of the Czech Republic, where from 2012 I have worked as a University and Careers Adviser in Prague British International School. In January 2020 I completed a PhD in History and Criminology.
I really enjoy working as a university and careers adviser, as it involves an ideal mix of teaching and mentoring, and I derive a good deal of satisfaction from supporting students at what can be a very crucial point in their lives. In my spare time I love to stay active, cycling on a daily basis, and I am a passionate reader of natural history and nature writing.
