TEDx Speaker, Coach and Organizer Dr. Grace M. Alexis is currently Chancellor of Generations College, where she once served as one of the youngest college presidents in America. She is the first woman to hold the presidency post at this 120-year-old institution. Prior to joining Generations, Grace held positions at Duke University as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education and Executive Director of the Comprehensive Education Institute for Duke University Health System. Over the past 30 years, Grace held senior leadership positions at several of this country’s major research institutions. She was an executive-level business developer, profit and loss manager for Kaplan, Inc., and a business relationship manager for Goldman Sachs & Co. on Wall Street. A native New Yorker, Grace received her B.A. from the State University of New York; an M.A. from New York University; an Ed.M. from Columbia University; an Ed.D. from the University of Pennsylvania; and she studied at the Institute for Higher Education at Harvard University. She is an ordained pastor and holds credentials at the doctoral level from seminary. Deep-rooted in her faith, Grace is an advisor to Christian professionals helping them to navigate the terrain of the modern marketplace. Her latest book, “I Am A Christian First: 12 Success Principles from the Diary of a Christian CEO,” reached the Amazon #1 bestsellers list. She also founded the Global Christian Professional Women’s Association, which serves and empowers women of faith in over 50 countries. Her philanthropic efforts know no borders. She campaigned and funded a building project that birthed a K-12 school for 850 children in Malawi, Africa. Grace serves on several boards and accrediting bodies, including the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, Bank of America National Advisory Panel, MB Chamber of Commerce DEI Board of Directors, National Small Business Association Leadership Council, and as a reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission and US Department of Education. With a mission to nurture people and organizations and transform lives through education, faith, and unwavering service, Dr. Grace is creating ripples of positive change in the world around her.
