Bio
My name is Michelle Casazza and I’m a business advisor, life coach, community-builder and sailor. After reaching corporate burn-out in a male-dominated environment, I set out searching for balance. My journey has taken me around the world and back again on a fusion of business, spiritual, and sailing adventures.
I founded Matria in 2023 merging my dynamic business experience with my personal growth journey. I am driven by the fact that only 2% of venture capital dollars go to female founders, and I want to change that through Matria.
Matria is on a mission to empower and invest in women through coaching, community and capital. We serve women leaders and female founders that want to build with balance. We help women reconnect with their true selves, encourage women to lean into feminine business practices while embracing their unique strengths.
We currently offer coaching and community services, while building a network of investors and advisors together to support founders on their journey.
I am thrilled to be attending TEDWomen to meet other women that align with my values and goals and be inspired by the great work happening to move women forward.

An idea worth spreading
Only 2% of venture capital dollars invested go to female-founded companies. Yet women-owned startups deliver more than twice as much revenue per dollar invested compared to those founded by men.
When women lead, we all win. They often build businesses with a social impact with strong business fundamentals.
Imagine a world where women received 50% of venture capital dollars.

Sailing! Since summer 2020, I have challenged myself to grow my skills on the water and am now a certified basic-sailing instructor and have sailed in waters around the world. Sailing is a practice in facing fear, staying humble and lifelong learning.
