Lindsay Morris is a photographer best known for documenting events in her personal life and surrounding community. Morris discovered her fascination with photography on a yearlong Rotary Youth Exchange program in South Africa. She continued her photographic studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, The School for International Training, Nairobi, Kenya, and at the University of Michigan. Lindsay’s work has been published in The New York Times Magazine, TIME Magazine, New York Magazine, Vanity Fair, Scientific American and GEO International. Her works are held in private and public collections, such as The Parrish Art Museum, Watermill, NY, and The Newport Art Museum, RI. She is a recipient of the NYFA JGS Photography Fellowship (2023) and will take the stage as a TEDWomen speaker in October, 2023. Recent exhibitions include PX3, Paris Photo, “State of the World,” The Leiber Collection, East Hampton, NY, ICP, NY; The Newport Art Museum, RI; Parrish Art Museum, NY; Hamburg Triennial, Germany; Photoville Brooklyn, NY; and a recent solo exhibition at Guild Hall Art Museum, East Hampton, NY Morris is a producer of two documentaries, My Transgender Summer Camp (BBC 2016) and Gay Sons & Mothers (2024), and published her monograph, You Are You, documenting a summer camp for gender-creative children and their families in collaboration with Kehrer Verlag. Morris works as a freelance photographer and regular contributor to the New York Times.
