About Peter
Bio
I am deeply passionate about academic enrichment and the transformative opportunities that arise when students are encouraged to think beyond the curriculum. Public speaking, in particular, is central to my educational philosophy; I believe in its unmatched power to build confidence, agency, and intellectual presence. In my role, I oversee more than twenty vibrant Sixth Form societies, each one designed to ignite curiosity, nurture independence, and broaden students’ academic and cultural horizons. Alongside this, I coordinate the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and lead a series of competitive essay programmes, providing students with platforms to explore, research and articulate their ideas at a sophisticated level.
My academic background is rooted in both rigorous scholarship and innovative pedagogical practice. I hold a PhD in project‑based learning and innovative pedagogy, with research that has resulted in published academic papers and numerous conference presentations across international stages. I have taught extensively at both university and school level, and I remain committed to interdisciplinary study—drawing on ideas that cross subject boundaries and encouraging students to do the same. My Master’s degrees, in Eighteenth‑Century Literature and in Educational Leadership, reflect a commitment to both deep subject expertise and strategic, research‑informed educational development.
Beyond the classroom, I play an active role in coaching and leading global academic competitions. As a World Scholar’s Cup Coach of the Year, I have guided teams to success through a blend of critical thinking, teamwork, creativity and sheer intellectual curiosity. I also lead our Model United Nations and Harvard Model United Nations teams, helping students engage meaningfully with diplomacy, negotiation, and global affairs. My work in debating and public speaking is ongoing and wide‑reaching, including regular coaching for competitive debate and extensive preparation for LAMDA public speaking qualifications. These programmes empower students to communicate with clarity, confidence, and conviction—skills that transform their academic and personal trajectories.
Across all areas of my work, I champion academic extension, intellectual ambition, and the super‑curricular experiences that allow students to discover who they are as scholars and leaders. My goal is always to create spaces where young people feel challenged, supported, and inspired to exceed their own expectations.
