Floraine Berthouzoz

Floraine is research scientist in the Creative Technologies Lab at Adobe Systems. Her research interests are in computer graphics and human computer interactions. Floraine has developed a variety of innovative technologies ranging from new video editing systems to garment design and quadcopter cinematography tools. She obtained her PhD in computer science at UC Berkeley and worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Tokyo, the Hebrew University and Columbia University. Floraine is passionate about STEM fields and co-founded the non-profit CS KickStart that encourages undergraduate women to major in computer science. Within the past four years, CS KickStart has doubled the number of females majoring in computer science at UC Berkeley. Floraine also founded the Berkeley Stanford Research Meet-Up for Graduate Women, an annual conference where female graduates from both schools get together to discuss their research. Floraine is an ardent traveller and adventurer. She has visited over 50 countries and never gets tired of going to new places, learning new languages, and understanding different cultures. This past year, Floraine participated in a kayaking expedition in Antarctica and climbed the highest mountain in Kurdistan, Iraq.
