David Johnson

Hello there. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Grateful to be a resident of Jacksonville, a graduate of the University of Florida and the University of North Florida (Swoop!), and a former reporter. My career has included many interesting roles. After working as a journalist at The Florida Times-Union, while serving in many roles for the local Jax paper, and as the arts & entertainment editor at Folio Weekly — an alt-weekly magazine — my next career move took me to work in public affairs and public policy for JAX Chamber. Previous volunteer roles have included serving on the Board of Directors of the Jacksonville Children's Chorus and on the board of the Friends of the GTM Reserve, an nonprofit that serves the estuarine reserve of the Guana, Tolomato and Matanzas rivers in the northeast of Florida. I enjoy volunteering for TEDxJacksonville and other organizations. Love to travel, have been on two mission trips to Peru and have attended three of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments as well as the 2012 Summer Olympics. In all, my travels have now included more than 20 countries on five continents.
