About Anjali
Bio
Anjali began her journey as a climate justice advocate by organizing young people from all over the world to build a strong youth and civil society voice at the UN Climate Convention.
Today, Anjali is Campaigns Director at the Climate Emergency Unit, where she works with institutions, networks, and social movements across the country to build power towards transformative climate policy solutions. She also is in the process of building the Padma Centre for Climate Justice, a project that activates diasporic communities to build power around issues of climate and economic justice.
Anjali has also engaged with the electoral system, running as an NDP candidate in the 2021 federal election (coming within 500 votes of winning as a first-time candidate) and as a candidate in the 2022 BCNDP leadership race.
Also a musician in her spare time, Anjali hopes to weave politics and art together to reflect the times we are living in and galvanize true collective action.
I'm passionate about
Bringing the whole human into systemic work. Relationality in institutions, organizations and social movements.
An idea worth spreading
We can draw many lessons from the WWII mobilization to tackle the climate emergency. Ask me about our 'Six Markers of Emergency' framework.
