Tenor. From Miami, FL. Family is from Panama and Nicaragua 🇵🇦🇳🇮 🏳️‍🌈❤️ Opera, choir, but honestly I sing notes and from the heart. I’ve sung for movies like Black Panther, Nope, Encanto. I’m a classical soloist, have premiered an opera at Tanglewood. Might be starting grad school…have to decide this week. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Professional Bio: Edmond Rodriguez is a Latin American Tenor from Miami, FL and based in Los Angeles, CA. Edmond enjoys an eclectic career in Southern California. He sings in the chorus of Los Angeles Opera and is a member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale. In 2022, Edmond was a Vocal Fellow for the Tanglewood Music Center. He was cast in George Benjamin’s Lessons in Love and Violence, performing the American premiere in a concert version of the opera conducted by the composer himself. Hailed for his “pure, guileless high range” (The Boston Globe), Edmond enjoyed exploring the arc of his role as the Young King, stepping into it with “frightening dignity” (The New York Times). Edmond has performed with LA Opera Connects and New Opera West. Through these performances, he has received praise for the “warm and notably smooth line” in his singing (San Francisco Classical Voice). In 2021, Edmond premiered a vocal piece commissioned by composer Derrick Skye for a professional recital in Pasadena, CA. He soon after premiered an AI Opera, Song of the Ambassadors, written by Skye at REDCAT in 2022 and performed an excerpt from the piece at TedTalk in 2023. Earlier this year, Edmond made his debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, singing the tenor solo in Steve Reich’s Traveler’s Prayer. Beyond classical music, Edmond sings as a session singer in the film, pop and television industries of Los Angeles. His voice can be heard on featured films such as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Encanto, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Nope. He has sung as a back-up singer for Aloe Blacc, the Rolling Stones, and sang on Rosalia’s most recent album Motomami. Edmond’s on-screen television credits include vocals for shows Grown-ish and Hunters. Edmond has had the opportunity to sing under the batons of Grant Gershon, Jenny Wong, George Benjamin, James Conlon, Brad Lubman, John Harbison and Gustavo Dudamel. Edmond received his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Southern California
