Jamie Heywood is the CEO and Founder of Alden Scientific; Alden, a private research institute, applies artificial intelligence & advanced biological data to produce actionable insights into optimizing an individual's health and disease and aging. His career dedicated to advancing discovery and medicine was inspired by his brother's ALS diagnosis in 1999. An MIT-trained mechanical engineer, Jamie has concentrated on system-wide improvements in healthcare and research, pioneering the integration of machine learning with biological measurements. His innovations have transformed discovery, clinical trials, and real-world evidence. Jamie has founded or co-founded six companies, including the ALS Therapy Development Institute, PatientsLikeMe, and AOBiome. His work has been featured in Nature, The New Yorker, and The Wall Street Journal, with his journey documented in "His Brother's Keeper" and the award-winning documentary "So Much So Fast."
