Bio
I'm 16 and, although I'm half British / half Polish, I was born and grew up in Amsterdam. From a young age I've made short films and stop-motion animations, one of which won 3rd place at the Kunstbende Amsterdam 2013 - category Film & Animation. I've also done stage, film and TV acting in the past few years, both in the Netherlands and in Poland.
I'm passionate about
Filmmaking/animating, stage/film/TV acting, photography, design, art, human rights and education (and how we can improve it).
An idea worth spreading
Our current education system dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries, around the time of the Industrial Revolution. Since then, our world has changed greatly. But, at the same time, education has hardly changed. Now, in the 21st century, we face massive problems. We have war, poverty, racism, sexism, homophobia, environmental issues... These problems can only be fixed with creative solutions. And where better to start fixing things than in school? From a young age, we need to be taught not only maths, languages and science, but also subjects as philosophy, ethics, conflict resolution, critical thinking and environmental issues. And above all, we need to be able to think creatively. We need school to stimulate our imagination in order to prepare us for these 21st century problems that our generation will have to fix.
