About Anna
Bio
I am a social entrepreneur and angel investor; the founder and CEO of Kindred, a space to gather for co-working, events and exceptional food and drink. I was motivated to create a physical place to build communities in a world that seems intent on driving us apart. We don't have a membership anymore, it just wasn't us. Instead, Kindred is open to all, and we'd love to meet you, if you ever find yourself in Hammersmith, West London.
Before Kindred, I was a social worker, working in Local Government in London. My passion for people and our need for community was ignited here. Loneliness does not discriminate - it touches all of us and shapes our society in ways we might not be conscious of.
My original dream was to be able to build community from around the dinner table. I am so proud that Kindred now hosts a monthly community dinner that feeds 100 strangers for free, where we facilitate new connections and the conversations that matter. I'm also proud that in line with Loneliness Awareness Week in June, Kindred hosts our very own Togetherness Fest, a week long festival of events designed to facilitate meaningful, in-person connection.
Outside of Kindred, I am passionate about supporting social start-ups as an angel investor and philanthropist, and am particularly interested in issues relating to housing, community building, mental health, young people, biodiversity, and solutions around loneliness.
I am a graduate of the Executive MSc in Social Business and Entrepreneurship at the London School of Economics - an incredible course for busy people who want to find time for education in their social business journey.
