I'm passionate about

I am passionate about serving others and using my voice to create meaningful change. Throughout my life and career, I have witnessed the power of connection, compassion, and communication to transform the way people see themselves and the world around them. Whether I am standing on a stage, guiding someone through personal transformation, or creating initiatives that support those who serve our communities, my greatest joy comes from sharing ideas that inspire hope, resilience, and possibility. I believe stories have the power to heal, educate, and bring people together. I am passionate about meaningful conversations that challenge perspectives and encourage people to embrace their own potential. Beyond my work, I am deeply grateful for the experiences that come through travel—the opportunity to explore new cultures, learn from different perspectives, and celebrate the incredible diversity of the human experience. Above all, I am passionate about my family and the relationships that give life its deepest meaning. They remind me that success is not measured only by what we accomplish, but by the love we share, the lives we touch, and the legacy we create through kindness, connection, and service.

An idea worth spreading

Connect Before You Correct: The Life-Changing Power of Validation We live in a world where people are often quick to explain, defend, correct, and prove their point. But what if one of the greatest gifts we can give another human being is not being right — it is making them feel heard? I learned this lesson through a simple conversation with a dear friend about one of the most challenging experiences many of us will ever face: caregiving for aging parents. As we compared our experiences, I asked her if she had lived with her parents during their declining years. She had not, and shortly afterward, our conversation ended. The next day, she called me and shared that she was hurt and angry. She felt that I was trying to “one-up” her pain by comparing my experience to hers. My immediate instinct was to defend myself. I wanted to explain my intention. I wanted to say, “That is not what I was doing at all. How could you think that about me?” Because the truth was, I was not trying to compare our experiences — I was trying to find common ground. But then I realized something far more important: In that moment, the truth of my intention was not the most important thing. The truth of her experience was. Before I explained myself, I needed to acknowledge her feelings. I needed her to know that I heard her pain. I told her I was sorry that my words landed in a way that made her feel compared. I validated her experience before I shared my perspective. And something beautiful happened. Because she felt seen, she was able to hear me. The defensiveness disappeared. The hurt softened. And we moved forward with a deeper understanding of each other. That moment changed the way I view communication. Validation does not mean agreement. It does not mean admitting fault when you did not intend harm. It does not mean abandoning your truth. Validation simply means honoring another person’s emotional reality by saying: “I see that this is how this felt for you.” As a clinical hypnotherapist, trauma specialist, and creator of Quantum Eye Movement Therapy™, I have spent decades studying how human beings process pain, emotions, and healing. I have learned that people cannot truly receive our perspective until they first feel that we have received theirs. Validation creates emotional safety. It helps calm the nervous system. It opens the door to connection instead of conflict. My idea worth spreading is simple: Before we try to be understood, we must first help others feel understood. Sometimes the greatest breakthrough in communication does not happen when someone finally agrees with us. It happens when someone finally feels seen.

The TED story

In 2015, my best friend CeCe Espeut and I volunteered for TEDx Boca Raton, and we were immediately hooked on the TED life. We wanted to learn everything from behind the stage as well as taking the stage. We were fascinated by the energy, the stories, the ideas, and the incredible opportunity TEDx creates to bring people together through powerful conversations that can inspire change. That first experience sparked a journey that would continue to unfold over the next decade. I immersed myself in the TEDx world, learning not only what makes a great speaker, but what makes an idea truly worth spreading. I discovered that the magic of TEDx is not just found in the moment someone steps onto the red circle—it begins with the courage to share a message, the dedication to refine it, and the belief that one voice can create a ripple effect of transformation. In 2024, I had the honor of stepping onto the TEDx stage as a speaker, sharing my own ideas and experiences with an audience. That moment was both a dream fulfilled and the beginning of a new chapter. I realized that my passion for communication extended beyond my own story—I wanted to help others discover and share theirs. Today, I proudly serve on the TEDx Miramar executive team and as a TEDx Speaker Coach, supporting speakers as they uncover their message, strengthen their storytelling, and prepare to bring their ideas to the world. My journey from volunteering behind the scenes to standing on the stage and coaching others toward that same moment has shown me the true power of TEDx. TEDx is more than a platform; it is a community of people who believe ideas matter. I am grateful to be part of a movement that celebrates curiosity, connection, courage, and the extraordinary impact that happens when we are willing to share our voices.

Things you might not know

Seeing the potential in people before they see it in themselves One of my greatest gifts is recognizing the spark, strengths, and possibilities within others. Whether coaching a speaker, guiding a client through transformation, or supporting someone through a difficult chapter, I have a natural ability to help people reconnect with their own power. I am also good at turning complex ideas into simple, meaningful messages After years on stages, in media, and in transformational work, I have developed the ability to take complicated concepts and communicate them in a way that feels relatable, actionable, and inspiring. Although I connect with people extremely well, they often don't know that these superpowers are much of the reason why.
