I started my career at CompuServe in the 90s and this has ruined me for all other jobs. CompuServe taught me work can - and should - be fun. This is where I moved into my first official role as a Trainer and found my purpose. Even my hobbies are connected to learning. I recently hosted an episode of the Elevate L&D podcast on the topic of driving learner engagement. Check it out on Spotify. My career has been filled with amazing opportunities in L&D. Three of my favorite projects include an immersive End User Experience for a Tech Support Team at an international Internet company, a Poverty Simulation for employees at a non-profit health insurance company, and a program called Exploring Leadership which was a successful effort to democratize leadership training and succession planning. I am at my best when I am innovating at the intersection of learning, technology, and continuous improvement - whether it be for employee or customer success. In my personal life, I am part of the sandwich generation. I am mom, helping my 21 year old son transition to adulthood… and transition his gender as well. He had top surgery in October and is quite literally getting comfortable in his own skin for the first time of his life. I’m am over the top proud of him and wish simply existing did not take so much courage and bravery. I am daughter - my parents are in their 80s. Dad has mobility issues and Mom has dementia. I try to squeeze in as much time with them as I can. They are truly amazing people who taught me to be myself and to help others. I’m my spare time I am addicted to audiobooks, love a good walk, and I’m preparing for a new kitten in June and hopefully a new puppy within the next year. My current work is at Cornerstone OnDemand.
