Bio

Jon Staenberg joined Rustic Canyon in 2004 and is the head of the Seattle office. He brings two decades of experience working with venture backed companies. Jon first came to Seattle in 1988 to work at Microsoft. In 1994 following his entrepreneurial fire, he left Microsoft and started a two companies. In 1997 he raised the first of his three venture funds. Overall, he has invested in over 100 start-ups. He is one of the most experienced venture capitalists in the Pacific Northwest, having raised three funds totaling over $300 million. Jon serves on the boards of ePartners and Limelife, and is on the advisory boards of New Vine Logistics, Vista Broadband, Prime Advantage, Efficient Frontier, and uReach.com. Most recently, he has teamed up with the highest-rated winemaker in Argentina, Santiago Achaval, to start a new vineyard, Hand of God Wines. He serves on the board of the United Way and TownHall in Seattle. With his passion for film he has served as an advisor to the Sonoma Film Festival and the Seattle Jewish Film Festival. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University, where he received his BS, MA, and MBA.
