Bio
Arpan Somani is the Head of Technology Partnerships at the Obama Foundation, where he focuses on the Foundation's relationship to the technology industry at large - big tech, civic tech, non-profit tech and everything in between. Arpan joined the Foundation in 2022 to establish a technology partnership strategy including supporting the work of the in-house Product & Technology team, supporting cross functional teams and building the Foundation's presence within the Tech for Good community.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Arpan was leading strategic partnerships at an edtech company called Codecademy, where he managed content, marketing and business development partnerships including a partnership-turned-acquisition of Codecademy by Skillsoft. Before that, he led partnerships and go-to-market strategy for creators at SoundCloud and a media company called The FADER.
Outside of his role at the Obama Foundation, Arpan continues to work at the intersection of media, technology and activism through advisory and board roles with non-profits and like-minded organizations in the space including ShowUp, Education Through Music, Red Hook Farms and the Brooklyn Library. Arpan lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and cat.
