Danny Teinowitz

My birthday is July Ninth. I am a native of Glencoe, Illinois, located in north suburban Chicago. I am a graduate of New Trier High School East in Winnetka, IL, I received my undergraduate degree from The University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana I majored jn Political Science), and I received my law degree from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. I have been a licensed attorney since 1987. I am a solo practicioner, and I represent city licensees, corporations, building owners, property owners, and individuals who are charged with alleged violations of municipal ordinances at the City of Chicago's central administrative hearing facility. It is very energizing for me to represent people who have emigrated from countries all over the world. My beloved mother's favorite attraction at Disneyland (and later at Disney World) was It's a Small World After All. Now I am certain that it is a small world after all. I have a strong desire to continue to meet people from all over the world. I love newspapers, and I am very proud to have written for my high school, college, and law school newspapers. My high school journalism professor, the late Dr. Robert Boyle, taught me that the best way to get a good education is by asking intelligent questions. I love interviewing people, and my hope is that all of my questions are intelligent. Along with my parents, sister, and two brothers, I saw and heard Elvis Presley perform live at the International Hotel in Las Vegas in 1971. My family and I were also fortunate enough to see and hear the Jackson Five perform live. Both of those performances were transformative experiences for me as an eight-year-old boy. I was a featured extra and appeared in a scene with Tom Hanks (walking northbound on LaSalle Street in Chicago) in the 2002 DreamWorks Pictures film, "Road to Perdition." I am very excited to be attending my first TED Conference. I view this experience as a golden opportunity to meet many brilliant, charitable, innovative, interesting, kindhearted, resourceful, and wonderful people whom I would not otherwise have been able to meet.

Thoroughbred horse racing. I love going to the races, and I have attended the Kentucky Derby 18 times. I have bred Thoroughbred race horses, and I won a Sovereign Award as the breeder of FANTASY LAKE, the Champion 2-Year-Old Filly of Canada in 1998. I am also passionate about my family and friends, and I love meeting new people.
