Bio
My passion of architecture, as a young student, introduced me to research and inspired me to explore a STEM pathway, eventually developing my interest in the physical sciences. This inclined me to pursue maths and physical sciences at Sixth Form, where I ran my first TEDx event. I am now pursuing my MSci in Natural Sciences at university where I hope at some point I might return to TEDx event organising if the opportunity arises again.
As a scientist, I am passionate that research and innovation in the interdisciplinary sciences is the key to tackling the biggest global challenges of our times. I hope to bring this, and other ideas, to light through my TEDx community with the goal of inspiring a wider audience.
As a TEDx organiser, I have a passion for sharing and promoting interesting and valuable ideas. I am incredibly excited about novel and forward-thinking ideas and shining the spotlight on them.
Areas of expertise
Electron Diffraction, Quantum Mechanics of Molecular Structures, Quasicrystallography, Spectroscopy
The TED story
I've always been a part of the TED community through watching talks and sharing interesting TED talks with my friends and community. The TED ethos of giving speakers with "ideas worth spreading", I believe, is very important and it has always resonated strongly with me and it inspired me to start organising TEDx events.
In late 2022, I started drafting proposals to host a TEDx event in Cambridge and set my goal of securing a venue. After working with my Sixth Form, in early 2023, I formally submitted a proposal to independently organise and host a TEDx event. After receiving my event licence the same year, I was fortunate and privileged to have been entrusted with the task of hosting my own event. Since then, I independently worked on organising my first event and delivered it live in Cambridge on the 12th of January 2024.
As I continue my academic journey at university, I’ve “passed on the baton” at my Sixth Form in hopes of growing my TEDx community from my first event with a goal of making it an annually reoccurring event in due course and I’m excited to return to TEDx again in the future should the opportunity present itself again.
