Bio
I am a ceramic artist, working in a ceramic town with a very long interesting ceramic history as well as a strong ceramic community. I teach mainly ceramic glazes and love all the details about it.
With my partner Christian Bayerlein we take part and realize on performance projects around activism for disability rights and a very open expression of emotions...I took part as an actor in the film "Touch me not" by the filmmaker Adina Pintilie. It won 2018 the Golden Bear in the Berlinale Filmfestival. This project is ongoing and we travelled with it to quite a lot of countries, being the link between the film and the audience.
Working in a collective has shown me the gift to mediate and bringing out not only her own human and artistic potential but also the potential of the people around her.
I studied Fine Art in Ireland and Artistic as well as Technical Ceramics in Germany.
I'm passionate about
I am extremely passionate to share my skills as well as my knowledge about ceramics to people. The range of topics seem for me endless...my favourite is the science and the design effects of ceramic glazes. But also guiding people finding their own artistic potential.
An idea worth spreading
I like to bring forward the beauty, uniqueness and science of ceramic glazes. It is about the knowledge of raw materials, finding geological materials in the enviroment, testing out combinations and finding out about the melting and fusion habits as well as the reaction with the clay. It is a bit like cooking.....
