Bio
I am Alan Wallace, a communications specialist actively seeking new opportunities. My professional focus for the past 15 years has primarily been in the field of cybersecurity and corporate communications. My areas of expertise encompass media relations, crisis management, corporate communications strategy, and digital media production.
Throughout my career, I have held significant roles at notable organizations, including Microsoft's Trustworthy Computing Division, Trend Micro, Visa, and Panda Security.
In addition to my professional endeavors, I serve on the board of directors at RUSH Philanthropic, where my responsibilities involve communication initiatives aimed at fundraising for inner-city youth art education programs in Philadelphia.
My place of residence is Bucks County, specifically Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
My professional journey commenced after completing college when I assumed a position at the William Morris Agency, where I gained valuable experience as an Agent Trainee. I served as the tour publicist for the film "Sidekicks," which opened #2 at the box office and featured Chuck Norris. I also provided support to the family of Selena during the aftermath of her tragic passing.
A significant milestone in my career was co-founding and assuming the role of CEO at InterActive Agency, recognized as the first PR Firm for the Internet. Our clientele included prominent entities such as the Dodgers, Warner Bros, AOL, Happy Puppy, Engage Games Online, and The Palace. In 2000, I chose to sell my PR agency to my business partner and transitioned to Live365, where I held the position of VP of Marketing and Public Relations, contributing to its ascent as the leading Internet Radio Network.
I am also a proud single father and my son is getting ready to join the US Coast Guard.

The TED story
I was introduced to TED by Nancy Melone, a dear friend and a cherished member of the TED Community, who regrettably is no longer with us. Since 2010, I've had the privilege of attending TED, TEDActive, TEDSummit and now TED Women events, and I've gleaned invaluable insights from these experiences.
What draws me to TED is the unparalleled potential it holds for driving positive change. From an outsider's perspective, I see a remarkable community of individuals who are not only receptive to fresh ideas but also deeply committed to effecting change. I view myself as someone eager to be part of this transformative force. Occasionally, opportunities arise that allow me to channel my efforts toward noble and charitable causes.
My aspiration is to offer my skills and expertise to the TED community in order to contribute to positive change for the greater good. I hold a strong belief that by working together, we can leave a lasting, positive impact on the world and achieve more than any individual effort could ever accomplish.
Things you might not know
In a past life, I used to be able to beatmix - I don't know if I could do it anymore, but it was the 80's and 90's didn't everyone beatmix? For some reason, I earned a gold Rick Astley album then too and I'm never going to "Give It Up" ;-)
