Bio
"I like to see my people win."
My mission is to live an authentic life that maximizes potential, puts others first, and impacts the world positively through those around me. I fully believe that by doing these things every day, I will fulfill what I was put on this earth to do.
My background has shaped my perspective in many ways. I am proud to be Filipino-American and to be raised in the island nation of Guam. My father never had a college education and my mother never practiced as a nurse in a hospital. We moved to Guam when I was 3 years old and have been living a third culture all of my life. My parents raised me to believe in people and in the work that you put in. They encouraged me to compete at the highest levels in school and in athletics that ultimately led to success as a scholar athlete and the privilege of representing Guam in international competitions. My parents taught me how to go about life with thankfulness and a strong work ethic. My parents liked to see me win.
In 2005, my mother was diagnosed with Systemic Sclerosis or Scleroderma. This collagen vascular disease robbed my mother one of the largest aspects of the human condition: movement. As her disease progressed, her joints and skin became stiffer and stiffer. However, this did not stop her from giving her all. She led multiple relief efforts to the Philippines even while confined to a wheelchair. She lost her battle to Scleroderma in 2020 at the age of 45.
Because of my background I am absolutely enthralled with the continuum of Human Movement. I obtained my Doctor of Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina and am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. From Rehabilitation to Performance, I have dedicated most of my life to optimizing human movement and discovering new ways to measure, progress, and improve the way we move. I firmly believe that many musculoskeletal conditions and pains can be address by first moving well and then moving often.
My mission is to live an authentic life that maximizes potential, puts others first, and impacts the world positively through those around me. I fully believe that by doing these things every day, I will fulfill what I was put on this earth to do. Now really, I just like to see my people win.
I'm passionate about
Measuring, Progressing, and Improving Human Movement.
An idea worth spreading
Movement is Life. The ability to move characterizes life and longevity. Not everyone needs to or will ever move exactly the same. But every human on earth must integrate intentional movement to live their lives to their fullest potential.
