Bio
I've worked as an engineering consultant in the textile and medical device arenas, a fashion show coordinator, a fund raiser, and a parent. I love vintage clothing and have worked styling various projects in Miami. My most recent travel was to Kenya: I summited Mount Kenya and spent time with organizations that help protect the Big Tuskers.
I grew up with a chimpanzee named Beauregard.
I come to TED to gather the energy from the conference and bring it to Miami, a city to which I'm dedicated.
I'm passionate about
Elephants and chimpanzees; changing education to allow kids to explore technical skills; fearlessness; space travel; bacteria
An idea worth spreading
Home Economics and shop classes, which have been deemed antiquated, could be gateways to getting kids interested in STEM fields.
