Peter McIndoe

Hellooo ! My name is Peter, I’m a performance artist known for the Birds Aren’t Real movement, a satirical conspiracy theory in the U.S. which posits that every bird is a government surveillance drone. For four years, I played a character in public- and came out of character last year with the New York Times. I’m here at TED to talk about how method acting as a conspiracy theorist, gave me new perspective on productive approaches to the misinformation- how conspiracies have more to do with belonging than belief. Now out of character, I have the Birds Aren’t Real book coming out this fall, and am developing a movie with Universal. Would love to meet all of you!
