Bio

Adetutu Daniele (“Tutu”) is a brand manager and storyteller with a growing footprint in Africa’s creative and lifestyle brand ecosystem. She fuses strategic insight, cultural nuance, and emotional intelligence to help brands stand out—not just by being seen, but by being felt. Born and raised in Ajegunle, Apapa, Lagos, her journey into branding and strategy was anything but traditional. She began in the digital space as a content creator and social media manager, driven by curiosity and an innate desire to connect people and ideas through story. Over time, her passion for deeper impact led her to upskill in brand development, storytelling, and community building, gradually transitioning from execution to high-level strategy—drawing lessons from every phase of the climb. Across her career, Tutu has built a diverse portfolio spanning entertainment, beauty, tech, and lifestyle. She has collaborated with and developed strategies for brands such as Noble Guard Security, Happy Belly, Spur Nation Media, Uscential Nigeria, and Fernhill Digital Consulting. She currently serves as Brand and Community Manager at The Cave Africa, where she leads storytelling, audience engagement, and brand development efforts for one of Nigeria’s emerging coworking and lifestyle brands. Her approach to brand building sits at the intersection of emotion and intention. Tutu sees herself as a story architect, blending emotional truth with strategic clarity so brands can communicate with conviction and connect with depth. Known for her bold voice, empathetic leadership, and deep sense of purpose, she believes that the best brands are not just seen—they’re felt in culture. Beyond strategy, Tutu is endlessly curious about human behavior, emotional intelligence, and storytelling psychology—themes that often influence her personal reflections and professional work. She’s a proud advocate for authenticity, growth, and storytelling that reflects the heart of the African experience.

An idea worth spreading

Everyday Innovators: How Grassroots Problem-Solving in Ajegunle Can Rewire Global Design Thinking In communities like Ajegunle, innovation doesn’t wear suits or wait for funding. It shows up as patched-up power lines, repurposed plastic containers, makeshift carts, and one-pot cooking hacks that feed ten. These are not just survival tactics, they are blueprints for human-centered design, born from necessity, scarcity, and imagination. This talk reframes how we define innovation. Instead of looking to Silicon Valley or formal institutions, it turns the spotlight on everyday people who solve real problems with limited resources. These grassroots “micro-innovations” are not only practical, they are often more sustainable, inclusive, and adaptable than big-budget solutions. By telling real stories of how Ajegunle residents adapt and create, from self-taught solar repairs to neighborhood-built water distribution, the talk highlights a form of innovation that is often overlooked, yet deeply impactful. What if the next big global idea doesn’t come from a lab, but from a mechanic’s shed in Ajegunle? What if governments, NGOs, and designers stopped trying to impose solutions and started learning from the people who live the problems daily? This idea is about celebrating local genius and inviting the world to shift its lens: to stop asking “how can we fix this for them?” and start asking “what are they already doing and how can we scale it?” Because when limits become launchpads, ordinary people become the inventors of extraordinary futures.
