Hindu legends and their role in inspiring gender fluidity. For a world that lives on a wide range of multiple identities, the limited perspective of classifying people into two categories appears obsolete and simplistic. The more recent narratives advocate for diversity and inclusiveness, encouraging people to take ownership of their own experiences. if we look back at our history some of the greatest civilisations flourished under a strong influence and understanding of femininity within both men and women. This stands to be true when it comes to Indian Mythology. Fluidity was influenced by mythological ideas from India. Masculine and feminine were moulded into one another rather than being as separate entities. The British era developed a clear gender divide and showed little regard for the ancient concepts that shaped India's vibrant culture. The communities' loss of their long-standing links to the soil and their contemporary alienation from femininity speak volumes. In the artwork of Ardhanarishwara, the union between the forms of Lord Shiva and Goddess Paravati is shown (the half-female Lord). Through the imagery, it is demonstrated that all contrasts and dichotomies are interchangeable and merge to create a remarkably bright whole. We are unable to divide Ardhanarishwara into gender categories. This symbol is indeed significant and crucial to changing our culture today.
