About Brittany

Bio

A champion of sustainability and social change, Brittany has a background in programming, community building and engagement. Prior to joining Capilano University, Brittany worked as a Program Manager with Women’s Executive Network and the Canadian Board Diversity Council where she was responsible for developing programming and leading professional development sessions across Canada, as well as overseeing the department. Previously, she supported the launch of new businesses as a Trade Officer, Clean Energy for the British Consulate and spent time working in London, England with Public Health England. Her entrepreneurial nature led her to founding a company aimed at buying with impact, cleaning up the supply chain and supporting ethical fashion brands. Through her work she was the recipient of funding from Futurpreneur Canada and represented Canada as a G20 delegate at the G20 2017 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance summit in Berlin. Brittany currently volunteers for Growing Chefs and Every Mother Counts organization and is pursing part time studies in Sustainable Business Leadership. Brittany lives in North Vancouver, BC where she enjoys spending time outdoors with her “crew” (her husband, two-year-old daughter, and Australian Shepherd).

The TED story

My organization recently obtained a license with TEDx and we are honoured to have the opportunity to support this brand. My goal is to provide a platform for CapU's outstanding community members to share their insights, ideas and experiences with the world.
