Bio
George Corser is Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Information Systems at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU). His current research focuses on vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) location privacy. Corser performs peer review as a member of several scholarly organizations, including the ACM, SAE and IEEE Vehicular Technology Society. In winter 2015, he was awarded a Herbert H and Grace Dow Professor Award through the Center for Academic Innovation (CAI) for research into how students learn computer science skills, including students at a wide range of age levels and learning levels... "from grade school to grad school."
Corser was awarded a service grant to bring TED talks to SVSU and is now the official Organizer of TEDxSVSU. He also serves as a faculty advisor for Cardinal Bitcoiners, an SVSU registered student organization. Corser is a member of the Michigan Infragard, a cyber security partnership between the FBI and the private sector. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Early Career Academy, a Michigan charter public high school which provides concurrent college-level technology education.
Corser holds a PhD in Computer Science and Informatics from Oakland University, a Master of Science in Computer and Information Systems from the University of Michigan-Flint, and a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from Princeton University.
