Producer, TEDxMidTownNY.org. Produced 2010 Yuri's Night NY with special guest Buzz Aldrin at Club Drom in Manhattan. Creating Speaker Series for SFF to be produced live at the Explorers' Club and recorded for online broadcast. 2008: Produced my first Yuri's Night party at Rebel Lounge in NYC, with help from some very talented and committed friends. 150 people put on spacey costumes and came out to take a "Tour of the Universe", play space-trivia games, drink "Rocket Science" wine, dance to DJ Moldover's techno mashups, and try for a chance at the door prize: a free day of actual spaceflight training at the Nastar facility near Philadelphia PA. In October we added a light sabre battle by the NY Jedi and a space fashion show to our Halloween Space Monster Mashup at BLVD. In April 2009 we our Yuri's Night event at Galapagos ArtSpace drew over 250 people and earned a cover note and #1 rank in that week's edition of Time Out New York's "Own This City: Top Things to Do this Weekend". Rode a horse in the NYC St. Patrick's Day parade. 2006: After my father’s death, I went backpacking to Peru (Machu Picchu), Guatemala, Mexico, and Ecuador, where I climbed Cotopaxi, Earth's highest extinct volcano. Then I quit my Wall St. job and started Escape Guesthouse LLC with 3 rooms on the ground floor of my Brooklyn Brownstone. In 2007 I added a 2BR apartment on the 2nd floor of the house. By 2008 we were running at 80% occupancy until the economic crisis hit in October. By January 2009 we were back to beating the previous year's numbers and 2010 promises to be another record breaker. I am delighted and constantly engaged by the diversity of people who come to stay with us. Whether visiting relatives in NYC or coming as global tourists, our guests have a wide variety of backgrounds, occupations, and political beliefs, with a common interest in discussing and learning about others' ways of life. My guests are a great inspiration to me in my personal endeavors. 2005: My father became very ill and I had to take time off from work to help my mother care for him back in Maryland. As a single parent I had always put my job and my daughter ahead of everything else. Now I had to put the rest of my family ahead of those 2 priorities. Taking those months off forced me ultimately to recognize how much of my highpowered, highpaying, highstress life was really just a huge burden. 2001: Promoted to Vice President of Information Systems: Client Technology. Ultimately responsible for $2M software budget and architecture for 2000 global users an online document and content management system. 1997: Sent to London to manage European Monetary Union (EMU) project. I developed a workshop which presented a series of likely trade and settlement scenarios for roleplay by business unit representatives to explore the impact of conversion errors. Took this workshop on tour to our offices across Europe and Asia, culminating with a 1/2day conference in New York. Also developed the website, internal communications structure, and conversion weekend global command and control procedures. 1995: Earned Master of Science in Operations Analysis / Information Systems at University of Maryland. Recruited by global financial firm as a Project Management Specialist in Information Systems, I moved with my daughter (then 11 years old) from Baltimore to NYC.

Don't View it, Do it! I prefer participatory art, exploratory conversation, interactive entertainment. I have no interest in paying others to have my fun or take my risks while I just watch (spectator events, “reality” tv, talk radio, classical performer / audience style entertainment, sermons). While concentrated watching and listening are important both for education and inspiration, they are a means, not the end! I love dancing because it lets me engage immediately in the music I'm hearing, and it's even better when other people join in. I also enjoy designing or customizing my own clothes, costumes, home decor, food and drink, etc whenever I can make the time: a little every day keeps the creative alive. I’m the owner of Escape Guesthouse in Brooklyn New York, and producer of Yuri’s Night NY, the annual space-themed nightclub extravaganza. Now you might think producing a 9-hour, 600-guest event with fashion show, live music, and astrophysicists is way more exciting than running a Bed and Breakfast. But when you’ve got the Police, the Health Department, the Department of Buildings, and the Mayor’s Office of Special Enforcement all in your kitchen taking pictures and threatening to write violations for serving coffee without a permit, an inn can be a pretty exciting place. The Men's Fitness Challenge although i'm a woman. I can run at 8.15 mph for 12 minutes, swim 1.5 miles in 55 minutes, and lift 37,500 pounds in under 2 hours at the gym. I work to improve weekly.
