About Aidan
Bio
Starting as a teacher of Maths, I have moved into school leadership and am now part of senior management at Alleyn’s School, one of the UK’s leading co-educational independent schools. I have a wide range of teaching experience of both UK and international curricula and particular expertise in course design in mathematics. In the last ten years I have also consulted for schools in the state, independent and international sectors both in the UK and in the Middle East. I helped the IBO to design their pilot eAssessments.
As a head of mathematics, I pioneered applications of the Harkness method to the UK curriculum. In addition I have run training workshops and conferences for teachers with a focus on exploratory teaching styles and independent learning. Committed to outreach in education and the promotion of mathematics to students of all ages, I have run maths courses for adults.
I have co-authored a series of concept based Mathematics textbooks for Oxford University Press and love talking about how maths can be brought to life for everyone.
