Paola Fasanelli

Paola was born in 1956 in Trento. After finishing the gymnasium Rosmini in her hometown she moved to Bologna where she graduated with lode in Physical Education. Soon after she started her career teaching physical eduction in Italian public schools. The passion for understanding people holistically pushed Paola to expand her knowledge beyond the body, pursuing her second master in Psycology from the University of Padova. Paola, throughout her career, contributed to the creation of several workshops and methods of using dance as a therapeutic mean, particularly appealing them to impaired patients and to women during pregnancy.

Any kind of sport, but in particular sailing, running, skiing; education, psychology and cinema and books.

I would like to see dance and physical exercise as mean to help women who suffer from sexual abuse.

I have known TED for a long time, principally just by curiosity via the internet and the interest on topics that are widely represented in TED talks. Afterwards Mrs. Mirta Alberti in Trento, who is an old friend, and she invited me in TEDxTrento where I had the chance to see the event in much more detail. After I’ve been invested in following more and more often TED, attending TEDXCesena and more recently TEDxYouthBologna. After I met Maurizio Berti from Cesena, he once presented TEDxCesena in a Lions's convivial, I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity for my students to be exposed to new ideas and to get in touch with the network of TED. So Maurizio and I have together decided to propose a TEDxYouth in Cesena's High School Liceo Righi.
