The TED story
In my late teens, just like most of us, I felt the universe had to revolve around me. How I wasn't getting enough love, care, and attention from family, friends, and partner. As common as it sounds, some of us and me to be exact, found myself longing to end what was a short episode of my life. As I took an attempt to end my life with a knife to my wrist, my brain asked me the question "Why do people commit suicide?" This led me to drop the knife and searched on Youtube regarding the topic. And to my surprise the first video that popped up was a talk by Mark Henick hosted by TEDxToronto. That video saved my life in ways I couldn't imagine. This event is what drove me to organize my university's first TEDx event. I want to let as many ideas as possible out there to be shared and potentially save lives. Ideas worth sharing could be the single most powerful tool to actually make a difference.
