An idea worth spreading
TEDx event is the ultimate event for connecting the community.
The TED story
Since 2006, I started to watch TED Talks. When TEDx was first established in 2009, Al Meyers organized TEDxPeachtree in Atlanta (now run by Jacqui Chew) and invited me to be one of the speakers at the inaugural event. Later on, my talk was voted among one of the best at TEDxPeachtree.
After speaking with Al, I had a strong desire to host an event at my alma mater, Illinois Institute of Technology. With Al as my mentor, I reached out to my professors, faculty, staffs and other alumni. With their support, the first TEDxIIT event was held in Spring 2011. And I have co-organized with the students ever since.
