About Amy

Bio

Amy Webb is a quantitative futurist, best-selling author, and founder of one of the world’s most influential strategic foresight consulting firms. She is CEO of the Future Today Institute (FTI), where she pioneered a data-driven, technology-led foresight methodology that reveals the future though trends and scenarios. Together with her colleagues, she identifies white spaces, opportunities and threats early enough for action. FTI advises executive leadership of large corporations and investment banks, as well three-star admirals and generals and senior government leaders. FTI’s annual Tech Trends report is downloaded more than 1 million times a year. Regarded as one of the most important voices on the futures of technology (with specializations in both AI and synthetic biology), Amy is the author of four books, including the international bestseller The Big Nine and her most recent, The Genesis Machine, which was listed as one of the best nonfiction books of 2022 by The New Yorker. Amy also regularly collaborates with writers, directors and showrunners on films and shows set in the future or where science and technology play a central role. Recent projects include The First (on Hulu) and Black Panther. She is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. She is ranked on the Thinkers50 list of the 50 most influential management thinkers globally and was ranked by Poets & Quants as one of the most impactful business school professors in the world.
