Bio
John Beebe is passionate about building strong communities. His commitment to nourishing engagement has infused his work in education, photography and politics with a singular purpose. John is an activist whose community building has led him to:
• teach high school in Maine for thirteen years,
• exhibit photographs from a year in Sri Lanka at the United Nations ,
• create the only art installation in the heart of the Democratic National Convention,
• serve as Chief of Staff for a US Congressman,
• use stolen but never reclaimed bicycles to start a mountain bike program for teenagers living in D.C.,
• found and now Chair Canada’s leading urban park advocacy organization, and
• lead outreach and partnership development for Canada’s foremost democracy advocacy charity (current).
He recently become a Canadian citizen, is married to the exceptionally talented and outrageously beautiful Peggy Moss and has two daughters who impress and surprise him everyday.
