My name is Ramyar Raheem, and I am a business adviser and entrepreneur based in Kurdistan–Iraq. I hold both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master of Arts in Business and Management, and I have built my career across several key sectors, including human resources, administration, marketing, and event management. I am deeply passionate about empowering individuals and organizations to reach their full potential. As a business owner, I’ve had the privilege of supporting a diverse range of clients and organizing numerous impactful programs and events throughout the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). My commitment to community development and idea-sharing led me to become the official licensee of TEDxAshti, where I successfully organized and hosted a TEDx event in Halabja. This experience allowed me to bring meaningful conversations to my community, connect visionary speakers with engaged audiences, and contribute to the global TEDx mission of spreading ideas worth sharing. As a business adviser, I continue to help organizations navigate challenges, design sustainable strategies, and achieve measurable growth. I’m driven by continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration values that shape every step of my professional journey. I look forward to building on my TEDx experience and continuing to create spaces where ideas, innovation, and community impact come together.

As a business adviser, entrepreneur, and former TEDxAshti licensee, my work has always centered on empowerment, helping individuals and organizations discover their potential, grow with confidence, and take bold steps toward meaningful change. One of my deepest passions is the power of ideas. I believe ideas can inspire, challenge the status quo, and open new pathways for progress. Whether through advising businesses, hosting events, or leading TEDx in Halabja, I am constantly driven by the belief that a single idea shared at the right moment, can shift perspectives and spark innovation. I am also passionate about community-driven innovation. I truly value the process of bringing diverse perspectives together, listening to different voices, and creating collaborative environments where people feel encouraged to contribute. When a community becomes part of the brainstorming and decision-making process, the solutions we build are not only more creative, but also more meaningful and sustainable. What motivates me every day is seeing people grow, watching someone gain clarity, build confidence, or turn an idea into action. My TED story began in 2018, the moment I stumbled upon a TED Talk online. I didn’t know it then, but that single video would open a new chapter in my life. I was immediately drawn to the power of ideas the way a simple story, shared with honesty and intention, could inspire millions. Something about it resonated deeply with me. From that day on, I wasn’t just a viewer; I became someone who wanted to bring this world of ideas into my own community. As I continued watching TED and TEDx Talks, my passion grew into a clear purpose: to create a space in Kurdistan where people could come together, share their ideas, challenge their thinking, and inspire one another. I wanted to give my community the same feeling I had when I first watched TED, a spark of possibility. This vision eventually led me to become the licensee of TEDxAshti and to host a TEDx event in Halabja, turning a dream into a real platform where diverse voices could be heard. It wasn’t just about organizing an event, it was about creating an environment where innovation, curiosity, and collaboration could flourish. I wanted people to feel empowered, to recognize their potential, and to understand that their ideas matter. Throughout my journey, I’ve discovered something important: TED isn’t just about talks, it’s about people. It’s about uncovering hidden potential, fostering conversations that matter, and bringing communities together through shared knowledge and inspiration. My TED story continues today, guided by the same belief that started it all in 2018: when we give people a stage, we also give them the courage to imagine a better future.

People don’t know I’m good at seeing potential in others before they see it in themselves. Whether I’m advising a business, mentoring an entrepreneur, or curating ideas for a TEDx event, I have a natural ability to identify strengths, uncover hidden talent, and guide people toward opportunities they may not have recognized on their own. Many people also don’t realize how skilled I am at bringing diverse perspectives together and helping groups move from scattered ideas to clear, actionable plans. I’m good at creating an environment where people feel confident sharing their thoughts, and I know how to turn those conversations into meaningful outcomes. Another thing people often don’t see at first is my ability to strategize quietly and effectively behind the scenes, connecting dots, solving problems creatively, and building structure around ideas so they can become reality. Whether organizing TEDxAshti, hosting an event in Halabja, or supporting organizations in the KRI, I excel at turning vision into execution.
