Muna AbuSulyman a Media Icon in the Middle East has had immense experience in the field of development, women empowerment, and poverty alleviation. She was appointed by the UNDP as the first Saudi Arabian woman to become a Goodwill Ambassador, as well as UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador. . In addition, Muna built the Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation from the ground up and served as the Secretary General and focused on four areas; promoting East/West dialogue, women empowerment poverty alleviation, and disaster relief. Muna has been been cautiously placed and named one of the 100 Most Powerful. Muslims, Arabs and Arab Women by various lists for her work on Entrepreneurship and Humanitarian Development. In addition, Muna’s role as co-host of the Arab world’s #1 talk show has served as a public platform to discuss social issues. She co-founded several socially driven establishments, Niya, 3S, Meedan labs, and Arab Digital Reform Institute. Niya is an innovative social marketing application, and the first of its kind designed by Saudis to harness the power of technology and social media for a good cause. Niya’s vision is to make positive change in the society by giving people the chance to interact and make a real impact for nonprofits. Niya is essentially a link between the needs of the society, the organizations’ resources, and people’s interests. Arab Digital Reform Institute is an international technology firm, striving to improve the digitization of Arabic literature and its content around the world. ADRI’s mission is to provide an online digital platform that will host Arabic academic content from various education institutes and to build an academic environment online whereby researchers, students and education institutions can share, use and publish Arabic academic content.
