About Jessica
Bio
A recovering lawyer - I now spend my time giving my legal services away for free to support causes I believe in, and sit on a mix of not for profit boards (environmental advocacy boards including Sierra Club and Protect our Winters, and various arts organizations) and I lecture in bio medical ethics each fall at UBC.
My biggest passion now however is to hone my skill at the art of BEING instead of DOING.
I disappear most summers to enjoy time on my off grid property and adventuring on my boat with my Amazing 6 year old. Immersion in Nature helps me to slow down more than anything else. Attempting to off grid farm has been the most humbling experience of my life (presently my chances of subsiding purely on my own efforts is a practice in failure).
In previous iterations of life I was a mountain guide at Cathedral Lakes Lodge for 10 consecutive summers, and ran a photography company for many years prior to practicing law.
Originally from Uruguay (where I was born)Spanish is my first language. I have lived and studied in Sweden, the UK, France and Italy. My base camp is now Vancouver.
I love intellectual stimulation, particularly physics, philosophy, literature, biology and any interdisciplinary studies. I also love levity of spirit and people who don’t take themselves too seriously and embrace the child within.
Looking forward to connecting!
I'm passionate about
