Ahmed Mohamed Elgafary, born on March 21, 2008, is a remarkable high school student from Alexandria, Egypt, celebrated for his accomplishments as an inventor, programmer, and entrepreneur. Currently studying at Omar Ebn Elkhatab Language School, Ahmed has distinguished himself not only by his technical achievements but also as the first among his siblings to attend university. Ahmed's passion for innovation is exemplified by his development of the Pollution Detection Robot (PDR'24). This sophisticated project is designed to measure air pollution and detect dangerous gases such as methane, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen. The robot features advanced sensors like MQ135, MQ7, MQ4, and DHT22, and includes GPS, DC geared motors, a solar panel, and a camera. It transmits real-time data wirelessly, displayed via G-SIM on a mobile phone. While the Pollution Detection Robot is a significant accomplishment, it represents just one facet of Ahmed's broader portfolio of innovative projects. In addition to his work on the Pollution Detection Robot, Ahmed has actively participated in several prestigious STEM programs. He is currently engaged in the Junior Academy program by the New York Academy of Sciences, where he collaborates on challenges related to ethical AI and renewable energy. His involvement in the Future Generations of Scientists Summer Program and The Experiment Digital Leadership in STEM by World Learning has significantly enhanced his skills in research, leadership, and digital communication.
