Bio
Dr. Rae Muhlstock (she/her) is a lecturer in the Writing and Critical Inquiry Program at the University at Albany in New York and is the director of the WCI Film Festival and Lecture Series, a public humanities program in its seventh year. Her work in narrative theory, experimental fiction, film, and folklore centers on popular trends and classical mythology. She writes tirelessly about the myth of the labyrinth; teaches courses on monsters, superheroes, Black Mirror, and other denizens of speculative fiction; and is fiercely devoted to cats.

Literature, film, myth, cats, and students. I am a very proud nerd, and nothing makes me happier than having smart conversations with smart people about smart things.
An idea worth spreading
The myth of the labyrinth provides a narrative structure through which we can negotiate the liminal spaces of the self and its relationship to the world outside and within.
