I am passionate about people: my family (wife and daughter), my friends and colleagues, and my communities. I love circles of friends - old and new, and sharing food and laughter and experiences together. I am also passionate about my Christian faith - about growing in it and serving others because of it. I am passionate about ideas, and beauty: in books, and films, and in other people. I also love cooking, and wine, and wake-surfing, and laughing, and listening to good story-tellers.

The unexpected privilege I experienced from organizing TEDxLakeTravisHigh this past year was watching it all happen from the wings of the stage. I was in that position to coordinate the schedule, the speakers, film, audio, etc. But watching all the parts come together, and watching the students I worked with all year long organize details, and lead peers, and share amazing talks - from that vantage point - was incredible. It was a surreal experience to watch my young students be transformed into adult human beings, with amazing talents. They, and the whole event, far exceeded all of our expectations. It was amazing.
