My name is Alenka Mlakar and I'm 22 years old. I'm 3rd year student of Special Education on University of Ljubljana. During study year I live in Ljubljana, but I'm from a small village called Žetale, where i live on a small farm, with my grandparents. In high school I was volunteering on children events, that were organized by Association of friends of youth. I helped with workshops, animations, food… Also I was a volunteer on a project Grandparents and grandchildren, where we were teaching grandparents how to use computer, search on internet, send e-mails… 2 years ago I was volunteering in Centre for social work, where i was coaching one girl. In žetale I'm an active member of Tourist association of Žetale. In this association i started to work 4 years ago when i was participating on Youth exchange ''The convinienth truth''. After this year I started to work on a projects and helped organise youth exchanges, training course and one youth initiative. All projects were accepted by our National agency and supported by European Commision. Also i was participating in some other projects around Europe. This year we also organised 2 months European Voluntary Service. For them i organized Slovene course and helped with other things in organization team. During my study I'm also working as a student. For one year I was working in redaction where i was comparing pricelists of the cars for Serbian, Croatian and Slovenian market. I was also working in kindergarten as assistant of preschool teacher on department for children without disabbilities and for 2 weeks on special department. Now I'm working as a assistant of preschool teacher in kindergarten. Through volunteer and other work I gained good organisational and communication skills. I'm good listener, open minded and assertive person. I can work in team and I also have good observational skills. I also like photography. In my free time I try to learn about taking photos and how to use Adobe photoshop. I also like sports, espeacially hiking, cycling. I love animals. At home I have dog. My grandparents als have goats, rabbits, pigs, chickens, cats. When I'm at home I also help them with things around the farm.

I'm passionate about making difference and progress in children's life. Especially i want to help children with special needs to develop their maximum independence and to have good social life.
