Bio
Named as a Nike Legacy Project Changemaker, Zaneta is a fierce Social Impact Leader. By day, she works as a Social Worker having impacted populations including the unhoused, formerly housed, former foster youth, formerly incarcerated. By night she serves as Lead Organizer of TEDxCrenshaw, an annual conference that promotes ideas worth spreading in South Los Angeles. She is also CEO of Kolor Society, a social club for Millennials and Gen XRs of the African Diaspora.
Zaneta lives by the motto, the personal is political. A former White House Intern in the Obama Administration, Zaneta received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Spelman College. She walks into the future every week teaching social work students at Cal State University-Los Angeles. When she is not working, she is daydreaming, eating, and traveling.
