Shadae Paul

Shadae is an advocate for equitable health care for women, adolescents, and children. She has worked, conducted research, and volunteered across five continents in her fifteen-year career in global health. As an intersectional researcher and practitioner, Shadae has authored numerous academic publications related to maternal health, child health, adolescent health, reproductive health, and health care policy. Pursuing her passion for the wellbeing of women and children, Shadae has volunteered with various non-profit organizations in the tri-state area, including the International Rescue Committee, March of Dimes, Mary's Center, Hagerstown Birth, and Habitat for Humanity- Women Build. She also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Fiji, South Pacific from 2012-2014 where she developed health education programs to improve health outcomes for women, adolescents, and children. Shadae worked at the U.S. Department of State under the Bush and Obama administrations from 2009-2012. She is currently a Program Manager at the Maryland Health Care Commission, where she works under executive direction on projects related to state health policy and government relations in frequent contact with state delegates, policy makers, and purchasers from public and private health agencies. Shadae received a Master of Public Health and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington in 2019. She also holds a certificate in Global Women, Adolescent, and Child Health (Global WACh) and a certificate in International Development Policy and Management from the University of Washington. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland, College Park.
