Global citizenship isn't made. We are all born global citizens. Our job as parents, educators and community members is to help kids remember this so when they grow up, they will build a new world- one that works for everyone, everywhere.

I love how TEDx and TED ED are filled with folks from around the world who believe that extraordinary abilities are in everyday people. Since joining this amazing crew, I've been humbled by everyone's commitment to not only sharing ideas that can enable humanity to thrive but also developing change makers in local communities. Since attending TEDGlobal>Geneva and meeting some of the most brilliant optimistic individuals from around I've felt a range of emotions that have led me to seek a deeper understanding of our world. Since the dawn of humanity, humans have become much more humane. Despite headlines in the news, remember that in a short time we have outlawed slavery, made child labor illegal in many places, and campaigned for equality for women. I believe TED helps accelerate humankind's progress simply through the connecting of change makers and sharing of ideas. I think this volunteer rag tag team of Event Planners who spend their days as Engineers, Designers, Teachers, Marketing Specialists, and Economists are one of the most powerful forces we have to help bring a deeper understanding of the world we live in, to everyone. Thank you for your leadership TED crew, it must be difficult corralling the most energetic, principled, and outspoken group of volunteers from all around the world, but we very much appreciate your support and belief in us. Hooray for the TEDx crew and TED ED believing in us!
