Satya Bansal

Satya Bansal joined Barclays Wealth in July 2007 as Chief Executive for Barclays Wealth in India. He is responsible for building the Onshore Barclays Wealth business in India. In addition to his business targets for the front-office, his remit includes overseeing the build-out of a best-in-class Product Office and Wealth Advisory function in India, as well as a full local Infrastructure capability. Prior to joining Barclays Wealth, he was the Head of Private Banking in the South East Asia region for ICICI Bank in Singapore, with additional responsibility as Business Head of Offshore Banking Unit (Mumbai) with focus on global credit markets. Satya has been in the banking and financial services industry in a number of roles for more than 17 years including seven years with ICICI. Satya has been closely associated with India’s equities market in its evolution from the outcry system to online trading. He was part of the core team responsible for building and growing icicidirect.com, the online trading portals for ICICI in India. Satya started his career in Project & Corporate Finance and over time has worked in the areas of funds syndication, financial restructuring and wholesale debt markets. Satya has extensive cross-functional experience in finance, sales, marketing, product development and technology, as well as in analysing investments and markets. Satya holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Rajasthan in India and a professional Chartered Accountant qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India (ICAI).
